This trading strategy is perfect for anyone who is trading infrequently and wishes to manage and consistently grow an account over a long time frame, regardless of bull or bear markets. Tested as working as far back as !! BTW if you're interested the next EMA cross Bull could occur some time in if the markets can maintain a floor at these levels. First you must identify the short term trend. This only works if you trade with the trend and it does not work in a choppy sideways-market. Setup a 15 minute chart, using RSI This strategy works on the 15 min timescale in an uptrend. I haven't tested it but I would imagine short when the RSI goes below 70 and cover when it touches 30 would work in a down-trend. Inverted RSI Swing Trade Strategy This is my favourite. This is the Inverted RSI Strategy published at Pro Realtime Charts. We use a 12 day RSI on the CAC40, calculate 2 simple MAs. These MAs are applied to the RSI 6 for the short MA rsi 14 for the long MA. So don't get too excited! But it does seem rsi pretty good candidate for an automated trading strategy. I'm working with the triple screen Elder Trading for a living Probacktest does not accept to work in multi timeframes. I need an emulator of the MACD on weekly to insert in a probacktest daily. Anyone knows a solution? Hi Andy, Thanks for your info on the trading strategies I found your post whilst searching for inverted help with the Cap. Mgt section inverted ProBackTest. I use IG Index and this comes as part of the package. I have developed a number of trading strategy indicators and backtesting by identifying various candlestick pins for trade entries I cannot for the life of me work out the correct settings in the "Capital Management" box to correctly automate my strategy size like this. I think the " brokerage fee" and the "Risk Management" sections have an impact on this, but I cannot decipher the ProBackTest pdf manual. I use my strategies on the forex so for example on the GBPUSD, I would assume a 4pip spread and minimum bet size of 0. If you could help Andy, or anyone else out there, then please let me know! Happy to share any coding or strategies if you are interested, Best Steve. L ARSLF Rep Power: Trading Strategies Backtested Morning all afternoon here in the UK. I thought I'd share some of these as I've been interested in back-testing trading strategies. This can be done using charts from ProRealTime: Real Time Technical Analysis Rsi which have a fantastic built-in back-test engine. Using a simple scripting language you can code up your strategy and test it against historical data. If anyone has any idea for a strategy to back-test, let me know. The sort of things that are possible are simple things like combinations of indicators, crosses on moving averages as well as money management position sizing, stoploss and profit stop etc You can also achieve certain things like candlestick recognition but its a bit more difficult. I've created a few strategies that rely on indicators only. To my surprise some of them are great and others are truely awful. Below are some of the better ones. What I will do is periodically add strategies to this thread but if anyone wants to butt-in with an idea, comment or criticism, or a strategy of their own with or without a back-test please feel free! Explanation of a Backtest: This shows how much your pot has grown over time You'll be surprised to see just how successful some simple strategies are!! Send a private message to AndyB.
